Party Time

Well today we had the Trust Mass. I hope you saw us?? Faces painted, colourful trousers and blue t-shirts. What a spectacle it was, hosted by the met deep south. We had a bit of rise and shine and sing it in the valleys. The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The afternoon saw the infamous ‘petit train’ also known as Group 75 water fight!! We headed around Lourdes on the train armed with water pistols and anyone in HCPT colours were fair game. Needless to say ‘drowned rats’ spring to mind. Videos and pictures to follow.

The night ended in the party night and a bit of fancy dress. We had a few games and it was time for the weekly awards…

Best Dancer – Georgia
Best Wheelchair Pusher – Lewis
Best Make Up Advisor – Danielle
Best Singer – Kate
Best Diary Writer – Sean
Best Bouncer – Grace

We followed this with an amazing singing and dancing disco in a pub with many of the other groups!

Tomorrow sees us having a lie in and a visit to the Animal Park, then the big pack.

The Beach

A long old day today, our trip to the beach at St Jean de Luz.

A two hour coach journey arrived us at our destination. A swift packed lunch was had and then we headed straight to the beach. Costumes already on, it was an almost superman like transition from Georgia, Sean and Lewis, and they were soon knee deep in the Atlantic. Kate, Danielle and Grace quickly followed with a rush to getting their hair wet first.

After a bit of splishing and splashing it was time for a few games followed by warming drink for some in the café. Needless to say the two hour return journey was very quiet.

Night time activities involved the customary boys and girls night out! So it was a bit of a late one…

Don’t forget to look for us at the Trust Mass, starting 9am GMT. There are links on the hcpt and Lourdes website –http://en.lourdes-france.org

Busy Day

Well what a day!!

We had a little lie in of about 8 am, absolute bliss! Then we headed of to Hosanna House for a morning of mayhem. Lewis was first to find the bouncy castle, and dragged a couple of us with him. The ladies, Grace, Kate, Danielle and Georgia found the face paints and persuaded Alan, Dave and John to join in. Check out the photos 🙂

Sean made full use of the bouncy castle and even got Annmarie on, to much amusement.

After a fun filled morning, the afternoon was spent having a full group photo and having a walk through the Grotto. Then some down time was had by some whilst others, namely Grace, Danielle and Kate spent 50 minutes in one shop!! That must be some record….

The evening was spent at one of the most poynient parts of the week, the Torchlight Procession. It touched many of the group and the children and young people were very respectful. The evening ended with a full HCPT sing song, once again enjoyed by everyone.

Tomorrow is the beach!!

Noah’s Ark & the Caves

Sorry for the delay everybody, we had a long day yesterday and we are having a few technical issues, so bare with us.

Sunday night saw us crown the winners of our eater egg decorating competition, with categories ranging from best feather to best glittery we had many winners all of who received an easter egg!!

Monday morning and we all headed off to Grottes Betharram which are the caves close to Lourdes, they do have a Facebook page they reliably informed me so check it out!! Great fun was had by all, though there were over 300 steps to take down and 50 to come up, a boat ride followed by a train ride.

The afternoon saw us playing on the meadows, football, badminton etc… but to our dismay the taps had not been connected back up after the recent flooding so our customary water fight was not to be had….however we will change that!!!! We ended the afternoon with another sing song in café with a few other groups! Keep checking our Facebook page for photos and videos…well worth a look.

At evening time we joined many other groups in the under ground Basilica for a concert to celebrate Noahs Ark. Many songs were sung, the inevitable Rise and Shine follwed by a little Katy Perry and ROAR!!

A great day was had by all!! Thank you for your wonderful supportive messages, we see them all, our techie in the UK makes sure of that.

Keep sending us messages through the tatler, just send them an email tatler@hcpt.org.uk

Singing in the rain

First full day here and it is wet wet wet….

We started the day with a lovely breakfast, filling up on cereal, bread, yoghurts, fruit and nutella on croissants!

Our new ‘helpers’ Liz, Pat and Margaret received their ‘L’ plates and are thoroughly on their way to be fully fledged members of mighty group 75!!!

Next we visited the Grotto and Bernadette’s story, though it was a bit wet to stay outside. So we followed this with decorating our eggs for tonight’s competition, and an easter egg hunt around the hotel and had marvellous fun.

Easter mass was this afternoon where many of the group experienced the HCPT ‘feeling’! Rise and Shine once again topped the bill.

We’ve just come in from a sing song in the cafe where we seemed to have battle with Group 195!! There may be some sore throats later.

So now is down town before tea!!

Easter 2014

Well it is almost time, the clock ticks towards another Easter week in Lourdes with some wonderful kids and helpers about to head for bed before a very early start in the morning.

There are some great fun days planned, trips out, laughs, singing, friends to make and memories to create in the next week and it will feel like Christmas tonight. Hopefully all the bags are packed and everything is ready so sleep well and it will soon be time to hit the road to the airport.

We will try and keep things up to date on the blog here on our website so if you are not joining the group in France and are joining in from a far please feel free to keep an eye out for update on here.

And don’t forget to send you messages to the group, as everyone reads them and really love getting their messages in the Tatler while they are there, especially the kids, so email tatler@hcpt.org.uk and make sure you mention the Group 75!!

Rise and Shine everyone….
